Mayor-Elect Marian Orr Announces Transition Team

CHEYENNE—Cheyenne Mayor-Elect Marian Orr on Saturday announced her mayoral transition team.

Orr said the seven-member team is made up of a diverse group of longtime community leaders who all have a background in change management and embrace the priorities she outlined during her campaign.

“This is a great team,” Orr said.  “All strong professionals who have a history of getting things done. This is an impressive group who have experience in the private sector, public sector, small business, engineering and development, legal, social, and military fields.”

Orr said the transition team will review the organizational structure and practices of city government to ensure the customer-centric approach she discussed during her campaign can be achieved in the city.

“Voters heard me saying — over and over again — that we need a city government that treats individuals and businesses like customers,” Orr said. “That’s job number one for the team — review current practices to see how we can improve the customer experience.”

“Then we have to outline the ways to improve public safety which includes putting more police officers on the street and private citizen approaches to strengthening our neighborhoods,” she continued.  “And then it’s all about infrastructure. How we’re going to better take care of our roads and infrastructure and the need to do it right the first time.”

“We don’t need to reinvent the wheel,” Orr said. “I’m looking forward to hearing their innovative solutions and solutions already adopted by other cities to see if they can work here and how we can improve on them.”

Orr said she’s very pleased with the work of the Financial Analysis and Strategic Thinking (FAST) Committee and the two groups will complement each other.

Members of the Mayor-Elect’s transition team are:
